D.R. Shoultz – Author

Author and Editor - Copy (2)

A dog lover, blogger and author of several novels, D.R. (Donn) Shoultz hails from a small town in central Illinois, but has called North Carolina home for more than 23 years. Donn writes at his mountain home off the Blue Ridge Parkway where his wife Claudia shares her considerable editing experience in shaping his novels. In their free time, they both enjoy traveling and hiking nearby wooded trails with their dog, Milo.

Donn began writing in the fall of 2010 following a sales and marketing career that took him across the world. His ongoing writing projects include posting regular thoughts to his blog, submitting short stories to competition, and working on his next suspense-filled novel.

“I write suspense novels intended to excite and entertain,” Donn explains. “It’s that simple.  I don’t spend time chasing loftier goals.  If you finish reading one of my books wanting to read another, I’ve succeeded.”

Each of his novels includes a male and female protagonist you will get to know well, a criminal/terrorist element you will despise, and a conclusion you will not see coming.  Having recently finished his first murder mystery, “At the River’s Edge,” Donn has begun another.

Donn’s short stories are an eclectic collection of fictional tales looking at the lives of lovers, schemers, everyday people and even pets.  Each includes a twist and is designed to evoke thought and emotion, whether it is a tear or a smile. His stories have received national contest recognition, including from Writer’s Digest magazine.

His books include:

  • Corrupt Connection
  • Better Late Than Ever
  • Melting Sand – A Miles Stevens Novel #1
  • Cyber One – A Miles Stevens Novel #2
  • Gone Viral – A Miles Stevens Novel #3
  • It Goes On – Short Story Collection #1
  • Most Men – Short Story Collection #2
  • At the River’s Edge

The author’s profits from the Amazon sales of Short Story Collections go to support homeless pets in North Carolina.
