D.R. Shoultz – Author

Author and Editor - Copy (2)

A dog lover and author of several mystery/crime novels, D.R. (Donn) Shoultz hails from a small town in central Illinois, but has called North Carolina home for 25 years. Donn writes at his mountain home off the Blue Ridge Parkway where his wife Claudia shares her considerable editing experience in shaping his novels. In their free time, they both enjoy traveling and hiking nearby wooded trails with their dog, Milo.

Donn began writing fiction following a sales and marketing career that took him across the world. His suspense-filled mystery novels feature male and female protagonists you will get to know well, criminal or terrorist elements you will despise, and a conclusion you will not see coming.  His most recent focus has been adding stories to his Mountain Mystery Series, which he refers to as “cozy mysteries with a bite.”  In this series, unsolved crimes paralyze peaceful mountain communities.  Hometown heroes surface, searching for clues, only to fall into the path of danger.  Read one, and you’ll read another.

In order of publication, his books include:

Miles Stevens Series – “CIA Investigative Intrigue”
* Melting Sand
* Cyber One
* Gone Viral

Mountain Mystery Series – “Cozy Mysteries with a Bite”
* At the River’s Edge
* Butcher Road
* Fallen from Sight
* A Town Divided
* A Town in Fear
* Dark River

Donn’s short stories are an eclectic collection of tales looking at the lives of lovers, schemers, everyday people, and even pets. Each includes a twist and is designed to bring a tear and/or a smile to the reader. Several of his stories have received national contest recognition, including from Writer’s Digest magazine. His short story collections include:

* It Goes On
* Most Men

Author profits from the sales of D.R. Shoultz’s short story collections go to support North Carolina animal shelters. You can find his books on Amazon.com
